Evan's life had all the challenges typical for a teenage boy, squeaking voice, awkward and inconvenient boners, plus the pressure of heading into high school. But there's more to his problems, he was a teen boy growing up with the pressure of being gay in an extremely religious family and dealing with the aftermath of abuse at the hands of a family friend. Evan befriends another boy recently moved to town in whom he finds healing and love on a level he never thought possible. Once that love is discovered, the boys are ripped apart, Evan is attacked at school, then falls into a suicidal depression. Barely keeping his head above water, Evan must find a way to hold onto life, but help comes from an unexpected source. He journey's to finally embrace all that he is and escape the life holding who he truly is hostage.
