My experience as a dad of 3 wonderful children is amazing, challenging and fulfilling. But the experience is nothing like the expectation I had reflected back at me by books and media as I grew up. I watch my friends who are dad's who are much more than just the "goofball" dad or "work all hours" dad or the "lazy dad" tropes which permeated tv shows of my childhood.
