Explosions of Joy follows Paul Yin's journey to remove the stigma from mental health care in China. After attending psychology classes in California in the `80s, Paul realized that the culture in China could benefit from welcoming a western perspective on mental health care. He injected himself into disastrous situations involving his home country of China such as the SARS Epidemic, the Asiana Airlines 214 Disaster, the Sichuan Earthquake, and the Disappearance of Flight MH370, by providing hours of volunteer counseling to those in crisis. Despite the resistance of his culture, Paul Yin was able to make a way for the establishment of the Employee Assistance Program in China, and he has been instrumental in offering training to thousands who would go on to provide mental health care to those in need. Overall, he has dedicated his life to doing the most good for the greatest amount of people. He has set aside his own human tendencies for ego and prejudice while providing inspiration to others to do the same.
