Maddie is a young girl who struggles with the fact that people seem to have a problem with either the texture of her hair or the color of her skin. Guided by her mother, she goes on a search of her family history in America. She found her ancestors not only held the answers to the texture of her hair, but also the reason her friends ridiculed her physical features. She learned through adversity how to embrace and celebrate her hair as well as her culture.
