The sorcerer Bib saves his daughter by accepting a curse to kill people--only Death knows how many. Bib tries to kill only the wicked but soon begins killing the non-wicked too. He agrees to rescue a woman's kidnapped boy because he expects a lot of death. But he doesn't expect to face the question: is he cursed to kill, or does he just like it?
