All Things Are Possible With Crohn'S: Enjoy Living The Life Of Your Dreams

It was the summer of 1970 and life was pretty terrific. Summers at our lake home in Canada with our two small children and one very large German Shepherd dog were some of the best years of our lives. Our life was truly idyllic. Surely nothing untoward could ever blacken those magical summers with family and friends. In January, 1971, I would discover that life doesn't always happen as we plan. Hospitalized, my body ravaged by a disease doctors could neither explain, nor cure. In February, I was flown to Mayo Clinic, where I was diagnosed with an incurable disease called Crohn's. For the next four months Methodist Hospital and Mayo Cl inc would be my new residence. My family's lives were about to be ripped apart and I could do nothing about it. For the rest of my life I would be forced to live on both sides of a coin. Dealing with my Crohn's and a surgical procedure called an ileostomy. No, this was not how I'd planned my life. In years to come, I'd learn that as bad as I'd thought thought this was, it was merely the beginning. In 2002, the unspeakable happened. My worst nightmare reared its ugly head and I was its intended victim.
