Close your eyes and think of the luckiest day of your life. Was it when you get married? Or did you hit a windfall of cash? Maybe you escaped a near death experience. The fact is, something had to happen for you to feel that way.The truth is, anyone can wake up feeling happy. But we need an outlier to feel lucky. May 17th 2006 was my outlier. That was the day I was sentenced to juvenile detention. That's the nice way of saying jail for kids. I landed in juvie as a 17 year old high school drop out. Behind bars, I was met with a choice. Succumb to who I was or try and salvage this thing they call life. This is a tale of perseverance, second chances and of course, luck.
