Not long after their only son Sage was born. For a time his life was of joy and bliss as Donovon enjoyed and supported his family from the spoils of his land. Eventually, his life was turned upside down when he and his family was brutalized by 5 outlaws. The story begins 5 years later when Donovan has tracked the last of the 5 outlaws to a small town. He confronts the man in a saloon and kills him.Though Donovan was on the alert from the lawmen and prior enemies, he was intent on returning to his son Sage. Upon his return, he was disheartened to find that his son was merely a broken down boy, afraid even to speak in his own voice. Donovan had vowed to end the cycle of violence upon his return, yet with his impatience with the local injustices, he seemed to find himself in one violent situation after another.
