The story takes place in rural America in the early 1800's. Dan and Rebecca--devout Christians who read their Bibles every day--are brother and sister, living on a farm with Mom and Dad. Their town lacks a church, so a local wealthy businessman, Lou, who controls the entire town, decides he will build a church and appoint himself as its pastor. But Lou doesn't know God or His Word.
