Focusing on locations as diverse as the rural southern United States, Brazil, Istanbul, and South Korea, this book advances our understandings about how lesbian, bisexual, and queer women navigate identity, community, and politics. It brings together international scholars whose work addresses how meanings about sexuality and place intertwine. The chapters in this edited volume challenge the assumption that certain places are inhospitable to LGBTQ lives by examining the varied ways that expressions of same-sex sexualities manifest across contexts.
