Between Disappointment and Delight

We get only one life So precious, so fleeting Is this how I?ll spend it Scrolling, posting, retweeting? The beauty of the natural world and the ups and downs of daily life?with all its gifts and losses, fear and joy, disappointment and delight?are the raw materials from which Joy Lenentine crafts word pictures designed to enliven the senses and spark introspection. The poems in this debut collection of poetry are both personal and universal, of this specific moment in history and timeless. Lenentine?s honest and often humorous self-reflection is an inspiration to the reader to accept themselves and navigate their own unique journey with increased grace, authenticity, and attentive presence. Wild and wonderful weather today How long did I stand there Eyes closed, riotous hair Wind blasting full in my face Soul wide open to receive A bit of its ferocity Passion and energy Relentlessness and strength Welcoming the winds of change To blow through my life Disturbing, rearranging Removing what needs to go Open my eyes Astonished again By how glorious it is To be alive in this world I walk on against that gale Brimful of courage Gratitude Awe
