Nestled between a dozen longshoremen working on Dock B, Junior Patrone was the only one that heard the distant blast that came from the ocean. A few minutes past four on a humid summer morning in 1946, an unmarked German U-boat carrying fourteen G7es (T5) "Zaunk÷nig" ("wren") acoustic torpedo's waits patiently in oil slick waters two miles off the coast of New York City. Within the hour, the escort-killer weapon locks onto the first of three merchant ships carrying much needed supplies overseas. During a secret meeting (sub-Rosa) in Berlin, a young zealous Gestapo officer convinces what was left of the defeated Third Reich, (Drittes Reich) that his plan was infallible. Shortly after Germany surrendered, Russian sources advised US intelligence that a plan had been put into play days before the war ended, targeting a specific location on the Eastern Seaboard of America. In 1942, Camp Hero, or the Montauk Air Force Station air base was had just been commissioned by the U.S. Army. With German U-boats threatening the East Coast and Long Island, Montauk was considered a likely invasion point. At the time, Camp Hero did not have a dependable radar system in place. There was however, sixty five miles north of New York City, an experimental radar installation in its infancy atop an isolated mountainous plateau overlooking the Hudson Valley. Once operational, the installations purpose was to warn against possible air strikes. After infiltrating an alpine colony in the Catskills, a Nazi mastermind makes contact with a group of German-American sympathizers obsessed with the idea of vindicating the Vaterland (Fatherland). Thirty years before 911, a plan is conceived involving a single WMD. If successful, it will show the world how vulnerable the United States is. Concealed from the rest of the world for three decades, entrenched within the governing body of the Port of New York, the mastermind behind an unknown conspiracy is resurrected along with several resettled co-conspirators, deep-rooted within a small town police department in Westchester County, New York. After arresting an organized crime member in the 1970's, a hard-nosed controversial small town beat cop stumbles into the forgotten world of gun-runners, murderers and conspirators.
