In today's culture, the word radical has taken on a negative understanding and is often linked to those that wish to do harm to others or stifle those who believe differently. In a way, this word has been hijacked to bring about fear and discord amongst the political ranks and vast people groups. Nowadays if you identify as a radical, you are deemed a threat, bigot, or ignorant and not taken seriously when it comes to issues of faith and ethics. In this book, I will discuss the need for Christians to take this word (radical) back and live in a way that God desires. No more should our beliefs or virtues be changed because of societal pressure or persuasion. God never intended for us to blend in. As Christians, we were always meant to be different. We were created to be radical. In conjunction with scripture, this book will seek to identify what a radical Christian looks like and challenge you to deepen your faith and commitment to following God's will in your life. My prayer is that you will be open-minded and honest as you read through these descriptions so that you can work on your weaknesses and nurture your strengths. This book does not contain an exhaustive list of the areas in which a Christian should be radical. The easy answer would be "everything, everywhere." However, I have chosen topics that I believe most impact Christians today. My prayer is that you will be encouraged by the words within this book and understand that it's not too late to become a radical Christian. I'm not sure where you are in your journey of faith but, wherever you may be, know that Christ will always accept the repentant sinner that strives to follow His will. I am writing this book with the teacher, mentor, and student in mind. I encourage you to use this book as a resource within your churches, home Bible studies, and personal devotion time. Much of what you will read has been discussed before, but my goal is not to re-invent the wheel, instead remind the Christian whom we are meant to be and why. God has provided us the wonderful gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and calls us to be salt and light. Different. Noticeable. Relevant. Radical
