On a small planet called Bravo-57, far from Earth, a society has been created based on ideas presented thousands of years ago, in Plato's REPUBLIC. It is an ideal society, where each man and woman does the tasks they were born to do. It is a place created to escape the political intrigues and the degradation of twenty-first century earth, for a more simple and honest way of life. The founders of the Republic planned a society ruled by philosopher kings called Guardians, who would rule out of a sense of duty rather than a lust for power. Eighty years after its founding, the society seems to have achieved all that its founders hoped for - an ideal society free from the avarice and corruption of the earth they left behind. But Jonah is not certain. Jonah has just turned thirty and must make his final decision on whether he wishes to become a Guardian for life, or leave the only home he has ever known. Is Jonah's hesitation only an indication he is not suited to take on the most vital Guardian role, or does he see something those around him are not able or willing to admit? Follow Jonah as he travels from one end of the planet to the other searching for answers.
