At salvation a miraculous transformation took place in our lives and we became a new creation. It was a total free gift from God and we did nothing to deserve it; all we had to do was believe it and receive it. He gave us His faith on His Word for us to believe, and when we believed He then gave us His faith to live by. Our old sinful nature was replaced by the nature of God and our spirit was made perfect righteous and holy. The Spirit of Christ not only came to live in us, He became one with our spirit (1Cor. 6:17), and then the Holy Spirit came and sealed us (Eph. 1:13). We have everything Jesus has.
