From the award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter of Enfants Terribles starring Christopher Lloyd, comes a wickedly gritty tale about addiction, duplicity, and the struggle for redemption. "Loved this script. Couldn't put it down." -Chris Gill, BAFTA nominee and editor on Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, and 28 Weeks Later "This is one warped and unpredictable ride. Buckle up!" -Jere Moorman, author of Conflict is Inevitable, War is Optional, and All Things Are Possible "A truly unique and engaging screenplay. The characters leap off the page. A fantastic read." -Michael Ryan, producer (Fifty Dead Men Walking w/Ben Kingsley, Planet 51 w/Gary Oldman) Donovan Shine, a knife thrower in a traveling circus, has begun to lose his touch and is injuring one target assistant after another. He's also an alcoholic struggling to get sober on his own. After receiving a call from his estranged brother who's been imprisoned at the infamous Bang Kwang Prison in Bangkok and sentenced to death, Donovan travels to Thailand in an attempt to help him. Upon arriving in Bangkok, Donovan enlists the help of his brother's friend - a morally ambiguous character - to guide him in the right direction. Donovan learns that his brother was set up in a drug bust by the Swedish mafia. He must unravel the pieces of a puzzle that has him cross paths with a nexus of international criminals, including a Czech drug-dealing nymphomaniac who's a doting mother to newborn twins, a bipolar Swedish gangster with an infatuation for Anne Frank, a vicious thug with a chip who can't stop chasing a dream, a Belgian senior who traffics in lady-boys, and a Thai con artist who finds thievery the only way she'll ever be able to right a wrong. As Donovan's addiction and life spiral out of control, he must navigate this anomalous realm he finds himself immersed in to save the only person in the world who means anything to him.
