I wrote this book because after I hung up the phone my husband and I stared at each other; we had no idea of what to expect. If you or someone you know is in this position the first emotion is SHOCK! Then a multitude of questions flood in. This book was written because I have been there and wanted to help other women with easy to understand information and explanations of basic terms. This is the book we needed to guide us, it would have taken a lot of stress out of our lives and we would have not been so scared when we began this journey. I have provided plain-spoken real-world information for a patient who has learned that she has breast cancer. It offers good humor, pictures and down-home perspective to guide you through the steps. This is a detailed explanation of my experience which can give you some insights on what you may encounter throughout your treatments. It also includes ideas on how to mitigate some of the issues that will come up from the treatments. I know that it would be great to be able to call your best friend who just went through it, this book is that friend. My goal is to help women around the world from diagnosis, through treatments to becoming a Breast Cancer Survivor!
