Successful oil man Dannie Barnes returns to the remote Texas town of Kiowa Springs after the death of his father to manage his family's expansive ranching empire. In the local watering hole, Sandy's Place, he has a chance encounter with bartender Karen Grainger, the spirited high school sweetheart he left behind 20 years ago.
