Jim Latimer lost his job with the Department because the latter clandestine government agency said his identity had been revealed and his usefulness compromised during the trial and conviction of Max Deropoulos, drug and people trafficker. Latimer had provided the prosecution's case after working undercover in the Deropoulos organisation. Now Deropoulos has been prematurely released on licence and is thirsting for revenge.
