Octavius Isaac Etienne, a wild and brash young Haitian-Canadian student living in Ottawa, Ontario, feels spiritually barren and lost after getting excommunicated from his old-fashioned Haitian Church. They've had it with his misdeeds this time. Feeling lost, shunned by his community, Octavius finds solace in a most unlikely place.
