After acquiring a little plot of land surrounded by dry-stone walls, the author reminisces the experiences and sensations of the past nine months spent to transform the barren green space into an English garden paradise. Her memories and immediate observations bubble up in her mind over the three hours she spends sitting in her garden one summer morning while waiting for her new friends, the former owners of the plot, to turn up for their very first visit.
