This is a mystery novel centered on a death of a lawyer who is from the home town of the President of the United States He is Special Assistant to the President and is the man of the highest integrity. He is confronted with criminal acts of the president and his wife whom he has worked and been friends with for twenty five years. His loyalty to the President is, therefore, in conflict with his exceptionally high standards. The President is under special investigation by the Senate Committee and a special Prosecutor. The drama unfolds as he is caught up in the web of deceit and his own involvement in it. The novel is both a traditional narrative with television interviews, editorials in The New York Times, investigative reporting, letters and transcripts from the Senate Committee and Grand Jury testimonies. As the novel progresses the story becomes compelling and so engrossing that you just cannot put it down.
