The Gumshoe Archives, Case# 5-1-5109: The Case of the Missing Cabin

This is the first book in the new children's living science book series entitled, The Gumshoe Archives. It teaches the science concepts of how various forces shape the earth's surface. Each chapter contains a review exam to test the students knowledge of the information presented as well as a comprehensive exam at the end of the book. There are also helpful activity ideas at the beginning of each chapter to help the teacher facilitate the learning process.

The storyline

When a miner named Hank's cabin goes missing, he asks for help from Andy Spencer. There is more than meets the eye to Hank's request. Join Andy and Norsely as they try to find Hank's missing cabin, and learn about the forces of nature that shape our planet. This is the first book in the 5th grade science reader series, teaching the principles of geological reformation and the forces that shape the earth. This book discusses Earthquakes, Volcanos and the processes of deposition, erosion, and weathering. Each chapter contains a small review exam to test the students comprehension as well as a comprehensive exam at the end of the book.
