Anthropologists and geologists surmise that early humans crossed over what is known as the Bering land bridge thousands of years ago. Though plausible, this theory doesn't provide all the answers.

What if early humans took another route to North America? More specifically, what if they came via a subterranean northwest passage?

Set thousands of years before the events of Thunder under the Badlands, Before the Thunder chronicles the underground journey of a tribe of early American settlers as they seek new lands and opportunities. Before finding a new home, however, they must work together to survive the terrors within the ancient corridor.

In the spirit of the Thunderstruck series, Before the Thunder presents wonder, discovery, and peril in equal measure. It enriches the Thunderstruck canon by providing a never-before-seen version of North America and the underground world of Cretacea.

Before the Thunder is a quintessentially human story of courage, perseverance, and adaptation. Though the setting may be unfamiliar, the humor, sharp dialogue, and deep characters make it a timeless tale with which anyone can relate.
