Based on true family secrets, this fictional novel is about a love story that takes place in Sicily between a young girl and an older American man. Jack Carter lost his family and his reason for living in a terrible accident. For years he suffered in a near-psychotic state. When he least expected, he found love in a small, isolated village in Sicily. Gabriella Pantaleo taught him to love again, as he experienced what "being a Sicilian" truly meant. Embraced by colorful people, good food and beautiful scenery, Jack's world once again, was fulfilled. Betrayed by Gabriella's priest, Jack's life was upset by a turn of events he did not expect. He traveled to Venice on an anguished search for Gabriella, only to learn she had returned to Sicily. Once more, Jack Carter undertook the quest for his true love. Unknown to Jack, Gabriella harbored a secret that would transform both their lives. Fifty pages of recipes handed down through generations of the author's Sicilian family are presented.
