Evaluations are performed using a system based on the normal curve and standard deviation analysis of a variable called home run mutation. Home run mutation is the difference between how many home runs a player hit in a given season and the projected home runs they should have hit based on their career home run production rate. Although statistics are relied upon throughout the analysis process, a thorough understanding of statistics is not necessary to comprehend the information within this book.
