A Heart of a Servant

The subject of servanthood has been largely overlooked in the world today. We live in a society where people have neglected the virtues of serving one another. The mentality that rules the world today is "I, me, and myself" attitude. Hollywood has messed up conventional wisdom. It creates stardom-mentality. Pride is another factor. Pride will never bow down to humility and servanthood. Greediness is a destroyer. Greedy people continue to exploit the poor and the needy. The prince of this Earth has plague-ridden men with the same attitude that he possessed when he was cast out of Heaven. "Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Because your heart is lifted up, And you say, 'I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, In the midst of the seas, ' Yet you are a man, and not a god, Though you set your heart as the heart of a god". Ezek 28:2 (NKJV) What are the Bible teachings about servanthood? First, when I think about a servant, I see humility. I see faithfulness and obedience. I see a caring heart. However, what does the Bible says? For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 (NKJV)
