He ccvers three different aspects cf surfaces-their chemical behavicr, their structural prQperties, and their electrQnic prQperties. With respect to' chemical behaviQr, the interrelatiQn- ship between unsaturated bonds and lattice ccnfiguratiQn is Qf prime impQrtance.
