meditations from a faith journey

Our meditations are contributed by members and friends of the First United Methodist Church of Greenwich, Connecticut. Continuing a well established annual tradition, which began a few years ago, we humbly offer you these meditations as a witness to both our personal and our collective faith journey as People of God. These meditations also speak to the intellectual, inspirational and spiritual capital of those of us who gather together in our beautiful New England Church. Needless to say, we gather for worship but also for fellowship and mission, and here we share our thanksgiving and our joy for such a privilege. In the past our meditations were mostly focused on our Lenten journey, yet we gradually learned that many readers found them helpful beyond Lent as well. With this in mind, we have decided not to include specific references that identify church season. May we ask that as you read and meditate on these wonderful testimonies, you may feel free to explore ways of sharing them with others -- relatives, friends, co-workers and neighbors, for instance. You will soon discover the ripple effect of words that, in all their simplicity, have the power to uplift hearts and minds in times of distress as well as times of victory.
