An autobiography of my wartime experiences of preparation for war, evacuation from London to a coastal resort then to a mining village in South Wales. My older sister and I were never billeted together. She was taken home in March 1942, I was taken home in September 1942. On 20th January 1943 our school was bombed. My sister was killed, I was severely injured remaining in hospital for 18 months. When the other patients were evacuated to Durham in June 1944 because of a brief resurgence of bombing and the V-1 (Flying Bomb/Doodlebug) attacks, I was returned home to London.
