About the book Don Osprey, Falcon Investigations, has been hired to look into the disappearance of a young woman, who together with a close friend went on a camping and hiking trip in the Trinity Mountain's area of northern California. While checking out a certain trail of sorts, he and a Forest Ranger, an old war buddy of his, stumble on a marijuana garden, operated by the Mexican Mafia. After a shootout with the gang, Osprey locates the body of the girl's companion, killed by the leader of the group, who made his getaway while kidnapping the girl. In the ensuing hunt Osprey finally manages to free the girl, capturing the wounded gang leader. In the Trinity area, while securing the marijuana crop, two Federal Agents are murdered in a daring plot by other gang members to retrieve the illegal crop. Osprey goes on the hunt for the nefarious top criminal in charge of the marijuana growing and trafficking operations. The search takes him from the Trinity area to British Columbia and back again to northern California. He needs all his talents to discover the whereabouts of the criminal in the back ground, who finally is brought down after a harrowing sea chase.
