A body falls off Lizzie's Point, a popular landmark on Quinset Island. Was it an accident? The sheriff has his doubts. So do Margaret Wetherbee and Alec Fromme, residents of the Whaler Inn. A doll is found by his side too. Quinset's town council is fearful of damaging the tourist trade, demand that the sheriff find the murderer or resign. Another murder is committed, but the doll at the scene differs from the other two suggesting there are two murderers on the island. As a severe snow storm approaches, fear sweeps throughout the island along with whispers of drug trafficking, mob involvement, infidelity and blackmail.
