The families of man are exposed as numbering two, and their development from creation to circa 1500 BC is narrated. The Tower of Babel, and the Lord's call of Abraham and establishment of the Hebrew people are studied in Book I. In "Book II: Chapters 21-36" we continue Genesis by examining the accounts of Isaac vs. Ishmael, and that of Jacob vs. Esau. In "Book III: Chapters 37-50" the sibling rivalry of Joseph and his eleven brothers is narrated, and the eventual move from Canaan to Egypt to live occurs.We have the pleasure to learn about the Lord's solution for sin in the world (the context). From this context we draw principles behind the Lord's solution, and then we apply those principles to Christian living today. This is the approach for "Genesis" and for every volume in the "Heavenly Citizens" series. We teach the student the meaning of Scripture and we teach him or her how to study the Bible on his/her own. We do this in two ways: we provide a few rules by which to govern our Bible study, and we demonstrate by example how to study the Bible. Experience is an outstanding teacher.
