The American dream is deeply rooted in the American system of government. It therefore behooves governments, and in particular, heads of governments, to provide the modus, stimulus, and opportunities necessary to make that dream possible and to keep it alive. This dream is rooted in the vision, passion, and foresight of the founding fathers of this great land called America through the greatest document that has ever been written regarding the state of affairs for the ordinary man. But are the ideals of the American Dream changing? How does the performance of the President impacts such Dream? A brief analysis of both Presidents George W. Bush and Barrack Hussein Obama may provide some guidance to these two questions. It may also be important to note how the political parties themselves may contribute to the effective functioning of the office of the President and, by extension, how domestic and foreign policy decisions are arrived at.
