Cronespeak: Poems for the Crossroads

This is a book of poems about a journey that starts at the end and zigzags. These are observations through the eyes of one but experienced by many. These poems are the stones on a path that is made the more joyful, sad, angry, and bemused because it is walked in small and muddy shoes. So, I hope you will join me and enjoy the view.

Funny Directions

When I was a little girl
I used to try to sew
but it never worked
It was never straight
or it unraveled or
zigzagged in funny directions
sometimes the buttons fell
I would hunt for them
Needle and thread never
cooperated to express
the pictures in my head
Now I sew with words
and hope they are cleaner
than my sagging hems
and tattered edges that
tried to teach me
that a straight line isn't
what it's cracked up to be
