With her newfound friend, they used their life experiences to get through terrible situations. With missiles surrounding her, she was struggling to live and fighting thoughts about what was happening to her family. When Sue Ann thought that she was safe, she only found herself facing another wrenching life or death situation: fires and war tearing families apart, storm tossed waves, ripping children from their mother's arms, and barbaric gangs. Was she kidnapped by human traffickers, or killed by drug runners? Did Sue Ann survive and make it back to Bangkok to find her family, or was her family lost to her? There seemed no end to her tragedies.
