The Keeper of the Keys

Kate and her mother, Blaire, are forced to pick up the pieces after her father's death. However, the pair is finding it hard to get along, and their constant arguments tear the already fragile relationship between them. On top of that, Rico leaves to find answers to questions about his humanity, and Kate is left alone with her mother. When Kate can't handle the chaos of their relationship any longer, she finds happiness in new friends. These friends turn out to be more important than Kate could have ever imagined, and when visions of magical keys bring more questions, Rico is forced to alter his original plans in order to search for new answers. Kate begins to figure out her purpose as Rico figures out answers, and she also begins to find her place in her new hometown. When someone that Kate trusts betrays her, things take a turn for the worst, and Kate is forced to fight for her life.
