Set in 1988, Travelers Without Passports, is a young man's journey into exile. After being forced to leave his home he joins his best friend in Turkey where he gets a job as a UN interpreter. This puts him in the middle of a humanitarian crisis and his story becomes intertwined with the tales of the many refugees for whom he interprets. He keeps a diary to record the events he witnesses which in the end becomes the only thing that helps him to maintain his sanity. His struggle to understand the conditions in which he finds himself takes us on a journey which reveals what it means to be a refugee. This is the story of resilience in the face of persecution and death. It is also a celebration of hope and freedom.
