WITH THE REGULATORS by James Otis, is an historical novel in the truest sense of the term. Leaders of the group known as The Regulation were as concerned about the wrongs against the people and as determined to correct those wrongs as the tale indicates. There is fiction here, because this is a novel. But author James Otis has created a truly wonderful word picture of the activities of The Regulation up until its conclusion at the Battle of Alamance. The two young men around whom the story unfolds, Clare Butler and his cousin, Sidney Hubbard, are not true historical figures...and yet, they very well could have been. Anyone with an interest in American history should read this story.
