Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge Comprehensive Conservation Plan

The following Comprehensive Conservation Plans have been prepared for the Lower Suwannee and Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuges, located in Levy and Dixie Counties, Florida. Their purposes are to identify the roles the refuges will play to support the mission of the National Wildlife Refuge System and the North Florida Ecosystem. The plans outline issues, concerns, and opportunities expressed to the Service during a series of public scoping meetings, workshops, and on comment sheets. They also provide a description of desired future conditions and propose long-range guidance to accomplish the purposes, missions, and visions of the refuges. This guidance is presented for each refuge in a listing of goals, objectives, and strategies resulting from an analysis of possible management alternatives. The final plans will serve as operational guides for management of these refuges over the next 10 to 15 years.
