In their capacity as mitigation hatcheries, these facilities provide a variety of environmental and ecological goods and services. This report focuses on a subset of these goods and services: the economic effects of the recreational use of hatchery trout. Aside from the direct fish-related economic effects, the hatcheries also provide additional economic impacts to local communities and adjacent regions through hatchery budget expenditures, including spending related to trout production and the spending of hatchery staff salaries.
