The assessment conducted from March 29th to August 1st of 2007 was a self-initiated evaluation of the DoD support to assist the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior and Joint Headquarters Inspectors General in establishing a self-sustaining Inspector General function under Iraqi law. The assessment focuses on operations, plans and projected needs of these Iraqi Security Forces IG organizations within the context of the U.S. Government's transition and capacity-building goals, as well as Iraqi anti-corruption strategies and objectives. This report reflects solely on the state of affairs from March 29th to August 1st, 2007 and does not account for events or developments following these dates.
