Failure at the Top in Public Education

The educational system throughout America is in drastic need of repair. The educational system and its foundation is supported by many incompetent organizations, bureaucrats and a host of well meaning nimrods that have little or no understanding of the concepts of what it takes to educate students. This, opinion is shared by many teachers, lay people, and by both students and the media. In order to understand why this problem exists today a complete understanding of how the educational system was spearheaded in this direction in the first place. There are many places in time, this could be accomplished, but the simple truth is, today's education is based more on performance than on truth and understanding. So the key word in education is performance. Performance can be a rather ambiguous term in the context on how it's used. Performance is something like statistics, the outcome is more or less directed by the outcome of the performance used by the person or persons trying to illustrate or influence their results. In other words, one can use statistics or performance to shape, change, or to alter the results to fit the need or desire that the research is trying to skew.
