Awraq Hilm: Arabic Short Stories

This book includes a collection of 15 Short Arabic Stories authored by the genius Arab woman Syrian writer, Mary Richo. The title "Awraq Hilm" was taken from one of these stories. Arab women literature as any other culture is mixed with Arab culture. Therefore, we discern that almost the majority of books written were by or on men authors. In modern Arab women literature, signs of women excellence and talents began to show themselves as poets, writers, and management figures in various Arab Countries, Syria may be the forerunner after Egypt in recognizing women writers. Mary Risho is one of these writers. The selection of this collection of short stories is a part of Ihyaa al Turath al Arabi fil Mahjar (Revival of Arab heritage in Diaspora) project supported by the Arab American Encyclopedia originated by the managing editor, a well known Arab American scholar, poet, and author of more than 250 books, Dr. Hasan Yahya resides in Michigan-USA, and has four children and ten grandchildren.
