'What's It Really Like? Pregnancy & Birth' is my tale of why I decided to have a baby, what it was like to be pregnant and what childbirth really felt like. Everything in here is true - to my best recollection. When I was pregnant I really wanted to know what it was like to give birth. I read all the birth stories I could get my hands on, but I found them overwhelmingly positive. They fuzzed over the hardship, and focused on the positive aspects. This made me think that birth really wouldn't be that painful, and I was in for a shock. After I'd given birth I really thought the most helpful thing would have been to know in advance what it was really like. This would have enabled me to prepare psychologically for the reality of birth, and to not be so shocked and scared when the contractions were in full swing. So here's my story - I hope you find it engaging, entertaining and informative.
