AJ was seated in First Class, attractive flight attendants doing their best to make sure he was comfortable. As he sipped his welcome cocktail, he was comforted at the knowledge that 24 bags, filled with currency and incriminating evidence, were safely stowed away in the bowels of the plane. Customs and airport authorities had been cooperative, thanks to substantial quantities of guaranteed black money. On the previous day, an octogenarian minister and his son, a new Member of Parliament, had gotten word from one of their moles that the CBI-India's federal investigative agency-was going to conduct a "surprise" raid. AJ was brought in to deal with this small problem. The CBI raid and the subsequent investigation proved to be a futile effort and a waste of taxpayer money. The CBI found nothing and the politician and his son walked.
