Martians : 9781492982166

The world around the last of civilization has surrendered to global warming, leaving two groups of survivors: the wealthy Nobles in the north and impoverished Drainers in the south, all safely tucked inside the sealed domed city of Sai. After almost 300 years, the dome is all they've ever known and are content until they find out their powerful turbine generators are being sabotaged by someone-or something. In the midst of it all, Lilith Burgess, the beautiful 17-year-old daughter of the president of Sai, falls for a handsome young school janitor named Adam Cleary. Relationships between Nobles and Drainers are forbidden, but despite Lilith's many attempts to stay away, there is an unmistakable draw to be near Adam. When their feelings for each other are realized, their secret love affair begins and they are determined to make sure nothing come between them. After Adam impossibly saves Lilith from falling off a second-floor balcony with his blur of blinding speed, she discovers he's hiding something and is determined to uncover it. For months, he has been able to conceal his true identity, but the closer they get, the faster the secrets begin to unravel. When Lilith finally learns the truth, it's more terrifying than she realized and is torn between love and fear. Adam would do anything to keep her safe, but how can she trust him-now that she knows that he himself-is the dome's greatest threat?
