Since the last decade, project management has become an important weapon for all organizations to compete in the world arena and both enterprises and governments have been promoting project management as their top priority. The key driver of this trend is the change in competitive landscape that forces modern enterprises to shift their focus from local competition to global competition. Since then, enterprises no longer produce homogenous products, but focus instead on product and service innovation to fight for their market share and leapfrog the competition, and each innovative attempt adopted by enterprises becomes a project. This means that in the future, enterprises around the world must adapt to changes in the environment, adjust their corporate structures, and strengthen their competitive advantages, in order to survive, evolve and operate sustainably. Simply speaking, the process that an organization evolves from one state to the next can be facilitated using project management techniques.
