The Story of Rainbow Eyes

In 2013, Betsey penned the children's book, THE STORY OF RAINBOW EYES, about a little girl born blind who is given sight again after a heroic deed. It's a story that will make you Believe in Miracles Again!

Once upon a time, a little orphaned girl named Dark Eyes lived in the mountains of ancient North America with her wise grandmother, a medicine woman. Dark Eyes has a special gift although she is blind: she communicates with animals and she sees with her heart. But her beautiful gift is not understood by the tribal children and so she is shunned by them. They fear her because she is different until one faithful day the animals warn of a terrible disaster, and Rainbow Eyes understand their message.

Dark Eyes saves her people by her intuitive gift as a animal whisperer to become "Rainbow Eyes," a loved and honored medicine woman of her tribe. The story teaches children to trust their intuition and Mother Nature when there is danger, and most of all how to honor those with physical impairments.
