After the "Mayhem" of her trip to Monte Carlo, Paz, the heroine of volumes one and two of the trilogy, finds herself back in Florida opening a beauty salon. Her daughter, working for a local newspaper, is sent to interview a newly opened local "cat farm" where "gentlemen" are provided with what they are obviously not getting at home. Natasha, the daughter, tries to convince her mother that adding sex and "look-book" education to her salon facilities would broaden her appeal and diversify her income. Hamish, Paz's Scottish husband, lands a job introducing classical music on a local radio station. His unique style is heard by the head of a new up-market cruise line who invites the family on a free cruise to St Petersburg in return for hosting on board concerts. In Russia, a well-intentioned but na?ve professor in Smolensk has invented a BCA (Brain Control Apparatus) with which he plans to control useless speech in the world and thus encourage action over verbiage. A rogue KGB unit finances his invention and encourages him to adapt the machine to control movement as well. They hope to take over the government and return Russia to its Soviet glory years. The KGB in Moscow worry about the Professors trip to St Petersburg . They trace him and the others to the Sex School. Just behind the KGB is a lone CIA operator called Malloy sent to grab the BCA device for the USA. Events escalate as both sides try to gain the upper hand, leading to a stand off between a US Carrier group and a Russian Missile cruiser. Malloy finally gains the upper hand, and not only arranges the liquidation of many of the rogue agents but manages to get the US and Russian Presidents to work together to eliminate the threat of this powerful but dangerous new weapon.
